  • Do you believe in solving health and pain problems using the minimum intervention ?
  • Do you try to avoid pharmaceuticals and their side effects?
  • Do you believe in the power of the body to heal itself ?
  • Do you have a pain that doctors can’t eliminate ?

Acupuncture is worth your consideration.

My name is Rhonda Hogan, I’m a licensed NJ acupuncturist with 14 years of experience. I approach your pain or problem with a practical, methodical approach and believe that acupuncture can help many problems that western medicine cannot.  Acupuncture can also help many problems with a less invasive treatment than western medicine.  I’m based in Somerset NJ.

If you choose to have me be your acupuncturist, you will notice a difference from our first meeting.

I spend at least 30 minutes covering your health history, accidents, disease, stress history and all circumstances leading up to your current situation. Then we talk about your problem. I may put you on a treatment table to gently touch areas related to your complaint in order to better understand the dimensions of your problem.

I then give you my honest opinion, based on my 14 years of experience on how acupuncture can help you. (I even allow you to leave at this point with no charge). If acupuncture makes sense for your problem, I discuss a treatment plan, give you likely outcomes and number of treatments before you will know if it’s working and make adjustments based on your concerns.

I’m not from the class of alternative medicine practitioner who embrace their technique as somehow unnoticed by western science… You know the types, they usually have some previously unheard-of solution, technique or something else that is the new magical cure-all. Or they have some non-touch way of healing. Then there are those who have that rational leap of faith. A is true, b is true therefore f is true (What happened to c,d,e?)  It makes no sense to me either. I’m a cause-and-effect type of person.

My treatment techniques all involve manual touch, looking for real clues related to the cause of your pain and using needles, electronic stimulation and sometimes massage to work on the cause of your problem. I hold a BA in Biology from Lehigh and a Masters in Acupuncture.

I’m realistic, have a sound basis in a western understanding of medicine and basically use an ancient technique with a modern understanding.

I strictly follow clean needle techniques. In my previous career, I worked as a microbiologist and have extreme aseptic/sterile techniques mastered. That cleanliness remains with me in my handling of needles.

Finally, I maintain a clean, calm environment as I believe that it enhances your treatment and care. Each patient has a private treatment room. Did I mention calming music? Heat lamps?

Contact me to discuss your problem, and please consider coming in for that 30 minute health history review.

Let’s work on your problem together.
