Eating a Whole Foods diet – shop the perimeter!

As many people know, I am a “Whole Foods” pusher.  It amazes me when I look into carts being pushed around at the suppermarket and everything is boxed and processed.  Our lifestyles have become so busy, we are all looking for convenient food.  The problem with the boxed and processed foods is that most contain ingredients that are bad for us.

Things that I really try to avoid are foods containing partially hydrogenated fats, high fructose corn syrup and preservatives.

So, what do I eat?  Mostly foods from the perimeter of the supermarket.  Think about what you find along the perimeter: vegetable, fruit, meat and dairy products among some other things.  I do stray into some aisles for my whole grains and nuts, organic chocolate and an occasional treat 😮
