This past weekend I was in San Antonio, Texas for an acupuncture seminar; I learned an amazing fibromyalgia treatment protocol. The information presented was packed with fascinating, evidence based treatment strategies to enhance my current acupuncture practice. Consequently, I am excited to implement the strategies I learned, because I can help the fibro population that suffers with pain, fatigue, digestive problems and poor sleep at a much deeper level.
Eight Overlapping Causes and Stages
Andrew Miles, DOM explained why fibro patients don’t get better with Western medicine treatments. Sometimes patients will feel great for a short period of time, but they suddenly relapse or feel even worse than before the treatment. Evidently, this is because there are eight overlapping causes which are all not treated with Western medicine. While, this does not happen with the eight stage protocol, because all causes are addressed. He further explained the eight causes need to be treated in a particular order and then covered the eight stages.
The eight stage fibromyalgia treatment protocol is so much more than acupuncture. In addition, it empowers you, the patient, to manage your own healing or in conjunction with acupuncture. It includes:
The Eight Stages and The Fibromyalgia Treatment Protocol
The Eight Stages
Nitric Oxide Dysregulation Associated with Elevated Cortisol
Prostaglandin Dysregulation and Platelet Adhesion Associated Chronic Inflammation and Pain (stabbing pain)
Venous and arterial Insufficiency
Due to Low DHEA’s or HPA-Thyroid Dysregulation
Dysregulation of ACTH and Cortisol Associated with Lumbar Pain and Low Body Temperature
Take the Fibro Quiz to learn what stage currently is predominate for you.
each stage of the Protocol includes:
Evidence based Chinese herbal pharmacology
Gasotransmittor breathing: influences nitric oxide and gasotransmittors in the body.
Topical herbs: Herbal Foot soaks and CBD oil
Lifestyle suggestions, such as saunas, massage, sleep hygiene
each stage may take 2 weeks, but can take more or less time.
Recommended protocols will be tailored to each patient.
Progress at your own pace depending on how much you do and how you respond.

I am registered to attend a seminar called “Fibromyalgia Treatment: Tradition, Psychology, & Science” in San Antonio on March 10th and 11th. The seminar will betaught by Andrew Miles, DOM, Thomas Whalen MD, and Qiu Xuelan Ph.D. This is very exciting news!
Andrew Miles. DOM
The three instructors are highly acclaimed in the field. I have very high expectations for this seminar. I can’t wait to apply this protocol at AbsoluteQi in Somerset! Relief for many is around the corner.
After the seminar, AbsoluteQi will be offering an exclusive pilot program to a select group of current and recent patients. Once established, we will open the Fibromyalgia Treatment Center to the public. We expect this to be as soon as May. We will be offering a clinically proven treatment approach to help fibro sufferers manage their pain and chronic illness. It’s time to get them on their way to healing!
Here is the outline of this amazing seminar:
culture in the West vs. China
from a Taoist alchemical perspective
from a social perspective
Research to be covered on the following topics:
Qigong and meditation
The protocol for treatment will cover:
8 causative factors of fibromyalgia
Using herbs and when to prescribe which herbal formulas
Minimalistic acupuncture strategies
Breath work, qigong, and meditation for fibromyalgia
Protocols and strategies for care
Adapting the strategies flexibly for patients
Many of the same complaints fibro patients have are among the highest percentage of complaints to physicians with the lack of energy and vitality being number one. A significant majority of patients either have no diagnosis, or, are given medicines that reduce the pain but don’t address the problem. This new natural program goes for the underlying cause and that’s very exciting to me.
If you or a loved one is suffering, call now to see if you are a fit for this pilot program! 732-227-9991
I am back in Somerset at my office after a great seminar on acupuncture treatment for spinal stenosis and failed low back surgery. The class was very good, the actual treatment techniques were very similar to what I use in my practice. I found the comradery to be amazing with the group of acupuncturists there. I learned a great deal about practice management.
My biggest take away was that I am not treating people suffering with spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and failed back surgery frequently enough and long enough. They need more treatment for acupuncture to succeed.
Next weekend I will be going to Orlando for an acupuncture seminar on treating spinal stenosis and other back problems. I am very excited to see what will be taught and come back with refined skills for the treatment of lower back pain.
Lower back pain is the most commonly treated problem with acupuncture and it responds so well. Spinal Stenosis is more complicated as well as disc herniation and any back problem with nerve involvement.
Many people have new year resolutions for better health. Acupuncture may be able to help you reach those resolutions. Call AbsoluteQi at 732-227-9991 to find out how to use acupuncture for preventative health and treatment for any thing that ails you. You may be surprised to learn what acupuncture can do for you.
A patient that I treated for lower back pain and still comes for maintenance treatments, came in two weeks ago with sinus pain and pressure. Today I saw her again and she said her sinus issues resolved during the treatment and has not come back.
Did you know that acupuncture is not for just pain and it can help with sinus and respiratory issues? Patients literally feel the sinuses open up during the acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture also helps the immune system so it can help with sinus issues related to allergies and cold and flu. Acupuncture and cupping can also help coughs.
It is cold and flu season, you can use acupuncture to boost the immune system to help keep your body stronger and prevent colds and flus and if you are struggling to get well, you can use acupuncture to help kick that cold or flu out of your system.
The weather has been all over the place this fall, temperatures have been up and down and it seems like the cold is now here to stay. We had our first snowfall in New Jersey on Saturday and my patients and people I come into contact with are dealing with colds, sinus infections and laryngitis.
There are many things you can do to boost your immune system to prevent colds and flu. It seems every few years I have a different favorite remedy. Always the most important factors are to get enough sleep and keeping stress levels down. If you are having trouble with sleep or stress, call now for acupuncture treatment and get this under control. In addition to sleep and stress, eating well and not indulging in sugar is important fortification for the immune system.
The past couple of years I have been using fire cider to boost my immunity when I was feeling like I might come down with something or if someone in my family was sick. This year I didn’t make any, but I do have some that I purchased but I haven’t tried it yet. I have taken a new route and have been using essential oils. Lately, I have been using oregano oil when I think I need a boost along with acupuncture of course.
What’s your remedy?

Two patients in a row with plantar fasciitis today. The first one was on his 4th treatment, and he reported he was 80-85% better and delighted he could walk without excruciating pain especially in the morning. The 2nd patient was in for her second treatment and was pleasantly surprised to have some relief already. I am hoping she will have the typical results I see in my practice. Plantar fasciitis is typically 80-85% better in the first 1-3 treatments, and most people get to 100% better in a short period of time.
